Jimera de Líbar

The municipality of Jimera Líbar is located in one of the most beautiful valleys in Malaga province, the Guadiaro Valley in the heart of the Serrania de Ronda.

It is situated in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, 10 minutes from the famous Pileta Cave, near the Cat Cave and just 23 km from Ronda.

The house has a great location because it is situated between three natural parks, the Alcornacales, the Sierra de Grazalema such and the Sierra de las Nieves.

It is also surrounded by limestone mountains forests of holm oaks and the river Guadiaro is approximately 1500m from the house.

Landscape

On the left bank of the river Guadiaro, opposite the Sierra de Líbar, in the Serrania de Ronda is Jimera de Líbar. It is located in the Alcornacales Natural Park and lies below the peak of Martin Gil, which at almost 1,400 meters, is the main summit of the Sierra de Líbar.

Fiestas in Jimera de Líbar

The main festivities in honor of the village's patron saint the Virgen de la Salud are held over the second weekend in August while at the end of May is a pilgrimage in the neighbourhood of the railway station.
